Roomcast turns a photo of your real room into an AI-generated redesign. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect, how your photos are handled, what we do with your data, and what we never do.
The short version
- Your room photo is sent securely to an AI service to generate your redesign — it is not stored on our servers and is never used to train AI models.
- Your generated redesigns are stored privately in your account. They are not publicly accessible.
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
- You can delete individual redesigns, or delete your account and everything with it, at any time.
1. Who we are

2. What we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we store your email address and display name using Firebase Authentication.
Room photos
When you take or choose a photo of your room to generate a redesign, the photo is resized on your device and sent securely to our service to create your styled result (see Section 3). Your original photo is kept on your device for the before/after view — we do not store your original room photo on our servers.
Redesign results
The AI-generated redesign images you create are stored privately in your account so you can view your history. Each result is linked to your account and served only through short-lived, access-controlled links. They are never made public.
Subscription information
Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage your subscription status using an anonymous identifier. Neither RevenueCat nor Roomcast can access your credit card or billing details — that data never leaves Apple.
Analytics and crash diagnostics
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google) to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. These send app events (such as sign-in, onboarding, and redesign actions) and diagnostic data (such as your device model and OS version), associated with an app-generated user identifier. We do not send your photos through analytics.
What we do NOT collect
- Your location or GPS data
- Your contacts
- Any health data
- Advertising identifiers (we do not run ads)
3. Photos & AI processing
Here is exactly how your photo is handled when you generate a redesign:
- Your photo is resized on your device and sent securely to our Firebase Cloud Function.
- The Cloud Function passes it to Google's Gemini image model (Google's Generative AI) to generate the redesigned image.
- Your original photo is used only to produce your redesign. It is not stored on our servers and is not used to train any AI model.
- A copy of your original photo stays on your device so you can compare before and after.
- The generated redesign image is stored privately in your account (Google Firebase Storage) behind access-controlled, expiring links.
Redesigns are AI-generated visual suggestions — not architectural or professional interior-design advice.
4. How we use your data
We use the data we collect only to:
- Provide the service: generate your redesigns and show your history.
- Manage your account and subscription: authentication and premium status.
- Improve the app: fix crashes and understand aggregate feature usage.
We never use your data for advertising or marketing profiling, we do not use your photos to train AI models, and we never sell your data.
5. Who we share data with
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers:
- Google Firebase — authentication, private storage of your redesigns, app analytics, and crash reporting.
- Google Gemini / Generative AI — generates your redesign from the room photo you submit. Governed by Google's privacy and AI terms.
- RevenueCat — subscription management using an anonymous subscriber identifier.
- Apple — App Store distribution and payment processing.
We do not sell, rent, or license your data to anyone, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
6. Data retention & deletion
You can delete any individual redesign from your history in the app. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your authentication record, every redesign image stored on our servers, your redesign history and usage records, and the app data on your device. Server-side deletion is processed automatically and is irreversible. To delete your account, go to Profile → Delete Account in the app, or email [email protected].
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. If you are in the EU/UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
8. Children's privacy
Roomcast is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Security
Redesigns are stored in access-controlled private storage. Account credentials are handled by Firebase Authentication using industry-standard encryption. Data kept on your device is protected by your device's hardware encryption and passcode/biometric lock. We will notify you of any breach that affects your personal data as required by law.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Roomcast after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
